Dr Ida Pauline Rolf (1896 - 1979)
biochemist and the creator of Structural Integration or "Rolfing".
Structural Integration is a system of soft-tissue manipulation and movement education designed to help realign the human structure in its entirety,
making movement more biomechanically efficient.
Over the years, our bodies react to the physical and emotional strains and demands of life by shortening and twisting. Structural Integration aligns and balances the body by lengthening and reorganizing the body appropriately.
This work is achieved by manipulating and releasing areas of the body where it is either stuck or held out of balance from lifelong patterns of tension and bracing.
The results of Structural Integration are dramatic and long-lasting, giving a person a greater sense of lift, movement, and vitality.
This organization begins as a cycle of 10 sessions.
